20. Believe in your child

Believe in a child, and she will learn to believe in herself.

Care about a child, and he will learn to care about himself.

Value children, and they will learn to value themselves.

Love children unconditionally, and they will learn to love and accept themselves.

We empower children when we make them feel that they’re significant.

And it’s not only children who are empowered but adults as well.

Was there a parent, teacher, boss, or authority figure who believed and cared for you?

Our self-belief comes from people who first believed in us.
