Do you have alignment in your life?

Since I started writing in 2013, I think I only made it to December once. So, while I’m late to wish you a Merry Christmas, this is still progress. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

This year, I wrote down the order of my priorities:

  • God
  • Family
  • Providing for my family
  • Meaningful work (or writing on this blog or writing a book)
  • Recreation
  • Growth
  • Service for the least (although I’m praying and hoping to do more)

Yet, this was how I spent my time this year (2021):

  • Provided for my family through my day job
  • Spent time with our kids
  • Played video games (I finished a lot of games this year)
  • Randomly watched movies and series on Netflix
  • Prayed

Next year, I will try to align how I spend my time with my priorities. I will also try to align how I spend my money with my priorities. Because the truth is, what we spend our time and money on is our priority.

Also, I generally felt “depressed” this past year, hence the video games, movies, and series. I tried to run away from my problems and negative thoughts, but after temporarily escaping, I always had to go back to my problems. Yes, there are deeper causes of my “depression,” which I hope to share more with you next year. But, I hope that by facing my problems and wounds, I can also have more alignment in my life.

Well, that’s it for this year.

Thank you for being there this past year. I hope to serve you better next year.

Let’s pause and pray:

Lord, thank You for this year. We continue to pray for blessings especially for health and protection for us and our families in the new year and the years to come.

We also pray for alignment in our lives. And may we also align ourselves with You, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. May we align our will with Your will.

Amen.
