When the battle against Covid begins

Something else I realized in our Covid ordeal is that the battle against Covid begins before you have Covid.

During our consultations with doctors, they recommended sleeping right, eating right, and exercising right to recover from Covid. They also prescribed lots of vitamins and to eat a lot of fruits. The only medicine prescribed to us is N-Acetyl Cysteine, which prevents the buildup of phlegm in the respiratory system. But, there’s no other medicine prescribed to us. Just good ol’ strengthening of the body and the immune system.

Hopefully, no one contracts Covid anymore. But, it’s really important to battle Covid before you have Covid. You have to strengthen your body by eating, sleeping, and exercising right.

And you also have to strengthen your spirit. My spirit was strengthened during this ordeal. But, the little faith that I had built up prior to having Covid really helped me during the nights when I was afraid that my condition would get worse. As a father of two toddlers, my only wish in this life is for my children to grow up knowing how much I (and God) love them. But when I had difficulty breathing, I was afraid that they might grow up not knowing how much I love them.

But, I just surrendered them to God, believing that God loves them as a Father more than I can ever love them.

It was those little nuggets of wisdom that helped me get through the most difficult nights. That’s why before you have Covid, you should also be praying, reading, strengthening your mind, and learning how to trust, surrender, and will yourself through adversity.

I didn’t mean for this post to be emotional. All I want to say is… strengthen your body and spirit (or mind) now. 😅 Nasa huli ang pagsisisi. (The regret is… in the end? 😂)
